TTE Full Form is Travelling Ticket Examiner. An Indian railway is one of the largest railways network in the world thereby creating ample of career opportunities in Railways. Travelling Ticket Examiners is a Railway employee, the most important part of his job is to examine the tickets of travelers and fine the travelers in the absence of the tickets. However, there are several other tasks that are also performed by a TTE.
Some of the tasks include collecting duty charts from a supervisor in charge and proceed to work according to the program. A TTE is expected to report for this duty as per the scheduled time in the prescribed uniform and identity badge. TTE are expected to be on toes during their duty time, they work on a standalone basis and hence do not require handling a team, they work in various shifts, and they can opt for a part-time or contractual job if needed. Their working hours are generally 10 to 12 hours a day and they work 5-6 days a week.
Minimum qualification required to apply for a TTE job is 12th pass. A TTE must be proficient in checking the tickets of passengers from a compartment to another compartment as well as railway stations. A TTE should keep an eye on excess luggage and unauthorized goods and charge a penalty if needed. A TTE should be well versed in handling all sorts of passengers even those refusing to pay a penalty. A TTE must have a sharp eye to spot the one without a ticket in the crowd of many.
