History of Taj Mahal dates back to the early 17th century, more specifically to the year 1631, when it was established in the city of Agra, one of the greatest center for arts and cultural activities in those days. History of Taj Mahal is great not only because it is a part of the Mughal empire but it also speaks in detail about the sense of art and architecture in the people of that age. The architecture of Taj Mahal, which is one of the greatest in the world speaks about the great combination of traditional Mughal art and architecture and Persian, Turkish, Indian and typical Islamic architecture. The use of white marbles for building the interior and exterior part of the wonderful monument speaks about the sense of beauty in the Mughals. Apart from all these history of Taj Mahal also speaks about the life of the great Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his relation with his sons and daughters. Aurangzeb’s relation with Shah Jahan. His decision to confine his father in the Agra fort is also an important part of the history of Taj Mahal. 

Speaking about the history of Taj Mahal, a few words have to be said about the people who actually created this marvelous thing by using their sense, experience and sense of architecture. Though there is some controversy about the chief architect of Taj Mahal, it is considered that the name of Ustad Mohammad Al Zahauri was appointed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to design and lead the group of architects for building Taj Mahal.
