UBI Full Form is Union Bank of India. UBI is a large and renowned public sector bank in India. It is counted among the largest banks that are owned by the Government. This bank was established on 11th November in 1919. Its head office in Mumbai was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1921. Headquartered in Mumbai, UBI offers numerous financial services like all types of banking, personal and business loans, management of mortgages, credit, and debit card services etc.
In the year of 1947, UBI had only four branches across India. But now it has succeeded to open over 4200 branches across India. It has also opened 6420 ATM counters. During its journey, UBI has merged various banks namely Belgaum Bank, Shri Jadeya Shankarling Bank, Miraj State Bank etc. UBI uses updated technologies to improve its services. Core Banking Solution is one of their innovative steps that helps its branches to stay connected with each other through an extensive computerized network.
To extend its services, UBI decided to step into the international market in 2007. It has 3 overseas branches in places like Antwerp, Dubai, and Hong Kong. It also has 7 representative offices in places like London, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney, Abu Dhabi, Peoples Republic of China, and the United Arab Emirates.
