Multi-Channel Television Sound
MTS Full Form is Multi-Channel Television Sound. The Multi-Channel Television Sound is a standard format used in the television content broadcasting that allows two-channel of sound also called stereo pair to be added to the television content. These sound channels are transmitted using the existing standard television carrier wavelengths as mandated by various associations. In case one desires to have alternate language tracks or a separate audio program, the MTS can also accommodate a third sound channel. These are called as SAP and PRO channel that are used for short range communication such as remote crews.
The normal basic channel that carries all the basic audio is called the monophonic channel (also called L+R channel). This channel is similar to the stereo FM channel while the 2nd channel called the stereophonic channel generally is on the top of the monophonic channel (called L-R channel). The left channel can be determined by adding the two audio channels. The right channel is determined after subtracting second audio channel from the first audio channel. (Here, L & R refer to the speaker on the television set.)
The MTS stereo can be about 1.5 decibels better than normal FM stereos. However, the encoding causes some noise during transmission and so on this MTS there is a dbx encoder to improve the signal quality and reduce noise. The television receivers identify the MTS signals at a pilot tone of 15.734 kHz. A committee called Broadcast Television Systems Committee created MTS in the US to encode 3 audio channels into an analog NTSC- format audio carrier.

Full Form of MTS is Microsoft Transaction Server. To process transactions related to applications and database management that run on the internet or a network server on behalf of a client computer, Microsoft has developed an object component model that is called Microsoft Transaction Server, a proprietary model for Microsoft.
The MTS consists of a three-tier architecture model that can help us separate the presentation, the business logic and the data of applications on different interconnected computers. MTS takes care of low-level programming and allows developers to concentrate on business server logic. The MTS makes developing distributed applications easy.
MTS resides on Windows Server and holds the middle-tier components i.e., objects that encapsulate business rules and handle interaction between data part and the logic part. The MTS has built-in objects, security measures, thread poolers, etc. that can replace as much as 40 percent of the infrastructure code needed to create distributed applications. Hence, MTS acts as a key piece for distributed application framework.
