Pre University Course
PUC Full Form is Pre-University Course. It is the intermediate course also known as (10+2). The duration of this course is of two years. This course is conducted by educational boards of various states. This particular course is very important if you want to take admission in any Indian university. It is usually known as a bridge course to prepare for university courses.
Admission to Pre-University course or intermediate course is determined by the marks obtained at the secondary school level also known as 10th class. After Pre-University course, one can take admission in any university of his choice if he fulfills the criteria desired for admission. The university courses are mainly of either three, four or five years. After completing this, the bachelor’s degree is provided. School’s offering PUC are also sometimes known as Junior Colleges.
For some universities apart from pursuing PUC and passing it, you must also pass the entrance test taken by them. Students passing the PUC in science stream can take admission in various technical and medical streams while students passing from commerce can enroll themselves in various Business degrees at any Indian University. Although in recent times Arts have also become a great choice among the youngsters.
PUC Full Form: Pollution Under Control
Full Form of PUC refers to Pollution Under Control. It is a policy and initiative that follows the order of the Supreme Court of India in order to decrease the rate of pollution as low as possible. It is a Certification mark that denotes whether a vehicle is fit according to the pollution control norms or not. This certification is intended to ensure that any vehicle that creates pollution above the regulated level, has to be withdrawn from the road with immediate effect.
The PUC certificate is issued when a new vehicle is brought. The validity is of 12 moths. After that, it has to be renewed on the periodical basis as mentioned in the norms, and according to the class of a vehicle. The vehicle owner does not need to struggle much. All he has to do is to take his vehicles to the pollution testing centers, and they will do the rest. But if he doesn’t renew the certification after the end of its validity, he is penalized accordingly.
It is a highly needed and valued initiative. To control the rate of pollution, it is necessary to keep the gas emission level in check. PUC Certification does that with effect. A vehicle that fails to pass the test is immediately ordered to be withdrawn. Thus, this venture is really a valid step to building a better, clearer and healthy environment in the coming future.
