Manali trekking- How to do a budget friendly trekking

Introduction

Manali is a town situated in the Kullu district of Himachal pradesh, a state in India which is at an altitude of about 6500 feet above sea level. Manali means Manu and Ali. Manu means Manu Rishi whose name is situated and Ali means Home. Manu Rishi’s house name is Manali. The city of Manali is about 270 km from Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh . 

Manali to Leh Ladakh road is one of the most beautiful road trips in India. And the   most threatening roads make it more beautiful where in one second you will be between 6 feet tall snow walls where on other hand the roads will become so thin that your breath will be taken away. The distance from Manali to Leh city is 427 km and this distance you can easily cover by bike or by car too. And you can do this Leh trip by any bike or car. But you only have to keep one thing in mind that in some places roads are very dangerous so you have to drive carefully.

The trek is a medium hike and the first beautiful point of this trek is a plateau which will be filled with mesmerising flowers especially in the months of August and September. It seems exactly like a valley of flowers and the plants at a few places are unique with the height of 6 feet tall. During these months the weather remains clear, mostly sunshine. Another plateau which also acts as a campsite for the Bhrigu Lake Trek which is called Panduropa from where mainly the meadows will start. The meadows of the Bhrigu lake are mostly safe, easy for beginners and have easy slopes. It will take 7-6 hours to complete the 13.6km hike.

On the first day of the trip you can cover the distance from Manali to Jispa. Jispa is approximately 92 km from Manali, and in Jispa you will get lots of cottages and homestays whose rent varies from 800 to 1000 which can be split between three people easily. Then after staying in Jispa you can go to Baralacha La via Darcha. To reach Baralacha La from Jispa it will take at least 2 hours and on the second day of the trip you have to drive carefully and once you reach Baralacha la then you don’t need to spend much time there because this can lead to high altitude sickness as well. So always make sure that you don’t spend more than  five to ten minutes there.Besides this you can also have breakfast and tea in Sarchu. Always remember that Ladakh remains cold for the entire year so whenever you plan a trip, always carry winter clothes and never forget to carry sunscreen because sunlight here is very harsh . The road from Sarchu to Pang is not in a very good condition so you have to drive very carefully. And also on the Sarchu you will cross the famous Gata loops which is a beautiful road on the mountaintop and its end is in Nakeela pass.
