Rivest – Shamir – Adelman
RSA Full Form is Rivest Shamir and Adelman. It is an encryption technology of public-key. It was created to transfer data securely and was developed by the RSA Security Inc in 1977. The term RSA was made from the initial letters of the surnames of the inventors Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir and Leonard Adleman. RSA is essentially an algorithm that bears the fact that, ‘there is no better way to factor huge numbers’. Therefore it requires extensive computer processing and time to deduce the RSA key.
RSA has become the set standard for all types of industrial encryption for data sent through Internet. It is an integral part of several software products such as Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and more. RSA makes use of two different mathematically linked keys – a private one and a public one. It is also known as asymmetric cryptography.
