Full Form of NCVT

National Council for Vocational Training

NCVT Full Form is National Council for Vocational Training. The NCVT was set up in the year 1956 by the Government of India and was undertaken by the Ministry of Employment and Labour. The main objective of this program is to develop a strategic framework for the development of skills in existing workers as well as early school leavers. The council has the responsibility of advising the Indian government on the overall programs and policies, awarding people National Trade Certificates and prescribing the curriculum for the training of craftsmen.

In the scheme of NCVT, MES training and certification, along with fees reimbursement are awarded to successful candidates. The training programs are flexible. They are part time, full time, weekends as well as on-site or off-site. Thus, it suits the requirements of numerous target groups. MES training is provided by training institutes and industries under private and public sectors.



Independent assessing bodies test the skills of trainees. The NCVT certification is recognized both nationally and internationally. Early School dropouts, unemployed and former child laborers along with their families can apply for the vocational training. Children having the age of fourteen years and older can participate in this scheme. There is no limit on upper age. NCVT provides certification for more than fourteen hundred courses.
