High-Speed Uplink Packet Access

HSUPA Full Form is High-Speed Uplink Packet Access. High-Speed Uplink Packet Access is a 3G mobile protocol. HSUPA provides a notable increase in data speed for users. Higher data speed is required for various applications, to upload heavy files etc. A lower data rate can be used to view emails and do some basic surfing. HSUPA has significantly improved data transfer rates.HSUPA has significantly boosted the upload speed; the downlink speed is less as compared to upload speed because a large amount of the data flows in this direction (down).

HSUPA is a data access protocol for mobile phones. HSUPA is relatively inexpensive since it is based on the software and does not require any new infrastructure to be developed or installed by the mobile network provider. It is essential that the network equipment is updated and compatible with new software.

Significant advantages of HSUPA:

Increase in data speed: The HSUPA aims to provide a considerable increase in the data transfer rate. 5.74MBPS is its allowable data speed.

Lower latency: The HSUPA provides a TTI of 2 milliseconds at an optimum use.

Good system capacity: In order to be compatible with a large number of high data rate users, it is important to ensure that the overall capacity when using HSUPA is higher.

Hybrid ARQ: To ensure the improved and efficient performance the HSDPA (Downlink) and HSUPA (uplink) used Hybrid ARQ (Automatic Repeat request)

Fast Packet Scheduling: Fast packet scheduling is adopted for the uplink whereas for the downlink, the implementation is different.
