BOI Full Form is Bank Of India. BOI is an Indian commercial bank. The bank is well renowned and widespread. It provides updated and advanced banking and financial services across India. A group (specifically numbering in 10) of eminent businessmen from Mumbai decided to establish this bank on 7th September 1906. Headquartered in Mumbai, BOI was initially founded as a private ownership bank, but it was nationalized and taken under government ownership in 1969.
The bank has various products and services related to retail, commercial, and private banking, management of assets and mortgages, credit and debit cards. Starting its journey with a primary capital of 50lakh Rupees and 50 employees, BOI now has 4963 branches monitored by 54 zonal offices across India. The services and business expansion of BOI is not limited to India. It began its international business expansion in 1946 b opening a branch in London. Since then, BOI has successfully opened and operated 60 offices in 22 foreign countries.
It has 5 subsidiaries in various countries including New Zealand, Uganda, Botswana, Tanzania; it also has 5 representative offices in Shenzhen, Vietnam, Beijing, Johannesburg, and Doha. It also has played a significant role in the joint venture with Bharti AXA which is now named as BOI AXA. By opening a branch in Paris in 1974, BOI became the first Indian bank to open a branch in Europe. This bank has achieved so many unique accomplishments and numerous of them are yet to come.
