1. Mathri Recipe

Preparation for Mathri Recipe

  • Maida (All purpose flour) : 4 cup
  • Ghee or Refined Oil : 3/4 cup
  • Water : as and when required
  • Salt to taste
  • Carom (Ajwain) Seeds : 2 tsp
  • Oil : to fry

How to Make Mathri

Sieve the maida and mix the ghee/ oil in it.

Mix the oil nicely in maida. Rub maida between your palms to ensure that the oil is mixed well with maida.

Add salt as per the taste and carom seeds.

Now use water to make a smooth dough.

Make little balls of the kneeded dough. The round balls should be of the size of half of the lemon.

Press the balls between palms one by one. If you wish to make big size of mathri, make the big sized balls of dough.

Now take a deep pan (karahi) and heat oil in it.

Now dip the mathri and deep fry them until they are golden color. Do not over fry them.

Take a plate and place tissue paper on it.

Drain the extra oil and place the mathri in plate. Tissue paper absorbs extra oil.

Repeat the process for rest dough.

Mathri is ready. Store in a air tight container and serve them as snacks.

Preparation for Paneer Pakora Recipe

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese) : 200 gm (cut into thick cubes)
  • Cornflour : 1 tbsp
  • Gram flour (besan) : 1/2 cup
  • Red Chilli Powder : 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • mango powder (amchoor) : 1 tbsp
  • Baking Soda : 1 pinch
  • Oil to fry

How to Make Paneer Pakora

Paneer Pakora -Indian snacks recipe

Make a mix of cornflour, gram flour, red Chilli powder, salt and baking soda. Add water to form a batter with thick consistency.

Sprinkle mangopowder on the paneer cubes.

Heat oil in a kadai or deep frying pan.

Dip the paneer cubes in batter and deep fry.

Paneer pakora is ready. Serve hot with tomato sauce or coriande chutney.
